La Pedrera is an indigenous Mayan school in the western highlands of Guatemala. The school serves the poorest area of a very poor country. Over the past four years we have been assisting the school with supplies, books, and computers. Thanks to donations, the school was able to add a badly needed second story onto the one room cinderblock schoolhouse. It was completed and dedicated in July 2007.
We are hopeful that we will have the funds to hire a second teacher soon. Your assistance can make an enormous difference to this impoverished community.
